Injuries

[pullquote1 align=”left”]’Its all well and good to reduce pain, however if the underlying cause is not addressed, it will only be a matter of time before the person is injured again'[/pullquote1] Foot injuries present in many ways.

They can be sudden due to an accident, or develop over many months or years due to overuse wear and tear. Patients with foot pain, regardless of the nature, need to get to the bottom of the underlying cause. This ensures an adequate and rapid recovery, while assisting to prevent recurrence in the future.

Its all well and good to reduce pain, however if the underlying cause is not addressed, it will only be a matter of time before the person is injured again.

Podiatrists don’t just deal with the foot. The cause of a problem in the feet may be due to a problem further up the body. Likewise a problem in one or both knees, hips or the lower back may be caused by the action of the feet.

We get such great results because we don’t just diagnose a problem, we delve deeper into the extent of surrounding tissue damage and understanding the underlying cause, and the full extent of a given injury.

A huge misconception of Podiatry treatment is that all problems are solved with orthotics. This could not be further from the truth at Geelong Foot Clinic. Each person is assessed as the individual they are and an appropriate treatment plan is devised based on their presentation with consideration to sport/work/school commitments.

Treatments our Podiatrists regularly employ (but not limited to):

  • Taping
  • Strength rehabilitation
